After another student tipped off ASU Police, officers found materials used to make explosives in the room of Logan Reynolds, 19, a chemistry major, in the Palo Verde East residence hall on the Tempe campus. The fifth floor was evacuated as a precaution while K9 units and the Tempe Police bomb squad removed the materials. Reynolds was booked into jail on two counts of misconduct involving weapons.

Police say Reynolds told them he made the devices for entertainment and had no ill intentions. The charges are allegations; KTAR did not report how the case ended.

ASU's side / contextASU Police Chief Michael Thompson praised the student who reported it: "If you see something, say something."
