Before You Blow The Whistle

Use your own device

Send tips from a personal phone or computer on a home or cellular connection, never an ASU laptop, ASU email or campus Wi-Fi.

Know your protections

Arizona public employees who report wrongdoing have protections against retaliation under A.R.S. § 38-532. Contract workers who act together on pay or safety are generally protected by federal labor law. A union rep or lawyer can tell you how this applies to you.

Report it officially too

A tip here doesn't replace a formal complaint. Safety issues can go to Arizona OSHA, campus-crime reporting to the U.S. Dept. of Education (Clery Act), and fraud to the Arizona Auditor General.

Keep records, share facts

Write down dates, places and who was present. Share what you saw firsthand. Don't post other people's private information, and don't take documents you aren't allowed to have.
