Around 3 a.m., a student walking near McAllister and Lemon was attacked from behind and hit with a blunt object. The student was hospitalized and expected to survive; no suspect was identified.

ASU Police's own Clery 60-day log (Aug. 14 to Oct. 13, 2026) lists 430 cases, including 8 reports of sexual assault or sexual abuse, about 20 assaults and fights, and 59 bike, e-bike and scooter thefts. 234 entries are marked "No Solvability Factors (Inactive)," meaning police found no leads to pursue.
Head coach Greg Powers is now ASU's former hockey coach. ASU placed him on paid administrative leave Sept. 30, two days after seven players sent President Michael Crow a 26-page letter through an attorney asking for the staff behind the Aug. 20 workout to be removed pending an independent investigation. Phoenix New Times reports on an 18-year-old who says she was handed wine on arrival at a "Wine Wednesday" rush party at an off-campus fraternity house near Meyer Park.
